Welcome to the madness (^•ﻌ•^)

Well met, traveler! Welcome to my blog ฅ^•ﻌ•^ฅ

This blog was originally made for a different purpose, so the address “As Write as Rain” probably won’t make any sense to you. However, I love that address and don’t want to lose it so I’m keeping it (☞゚ヮ゚)☞

So, what is this blog, then? you may be wondering. Probably not though because I doubt anyone is even reading this! Basically, this blog is all about video gaming! From tracking my completed games, posting reviews and just sharing my thoughts on games, this is where you will find them all. PlayStation 5 (AnnoyingTiger888) is my main platform, but I also play games on mobile and a small few on PC, mostly games that only exist on PC.

So, let me ask you this: are you ready for a new adventure? (⌐■.■)>🗡

2024, huh?

I haven’t used this blog in a while and I certainly didn’t keep with my goals for this year lol But hey, who does? No one that’s who. I’m revamping this blog, though, because I need a place to scream about video games! And hopefully I will keep with my 2025 goals which I will be laying out shortly c:

[challenge] Attack on Completion 2023

Hail rogue!

I joined another challenge over on PSNProfiles (original post here) and, so far, it’s going really well. I have a lot of games in my backlog that I need to finish and hopefully this will help. I’ll be posting weekly updates in separate posts. It’ll be way too long to post the whole year in one post, don’t you think?

I’m not great at sticking with stuff or finishing things I start, but I’m gonna try, at least.

Here’s my PSNP card if you’re interested:

Without further ado, let’s get started!

  • Challenge started: 1/8/2023
  • Starting percentage: 39.34%

🖋️ Tiger’s Review; Bully

This has been 5 years and 4 months in the making and I don’t even know what to say about that lmao I’m so bad at starting things and taking eight lifetimes to finish them. In my defense, I get obsessed with stuff and focus only on that for a while but then I move on for a while (in this case 5 years pft.) I thank the Bingo, Kaleidoscope and Casual A-Z challenges for giving me the motivation needed to FINALLY finish this game.

Bully is one of those classic games that can easily withstand the test of time. It’s such a good game with a damn good story and pretty cool characters. The main character has that little brother feel to me and I had that feeling throughout my playthrough.

🖋️ Tiger’s Review; Murdered: Soul Suspect

Before we start, let me say that this won’t be as in depth because I have a bad memory and this game was completed in December.

This game was on sale as part of the year-end sale. I looked it up and it looked like a unique and interesting concept. Without spoiling anything, you play as a ghost detective who has to solve his own murder in order to move on to the afterlife, but his murder ends up being part of a string of murders that had been plaguing Salem (you know, that place where the witch trials took place.) I’ve seen loads of detective games, but none where you play as a ghost. Actually, I don’t think I know of any games where you play as a ghost, either.

Wait, you can do that in Among Us lmao

Anyway, this game seemed intriguing and it was on sale so I took a chance on it. I was surprised to find out it’s a Square Enix game because apparently, I can’t feckin’ read. I was hooked on this game from the moment I started it! The story is really intriguing and so are the ghost abilities you develop as the game progresses. You can’t just enter homes, you have to possess someone and follow them inside and there are some structures you can’t go through so you gotta find a way around. There are also these short side stories to complete (which you need for the platinum.) The collectibles aren’t too difficult to find, but there are a few in unlikely places. I did have to start a new game because there’s no chapter select however, the game saves your progress. So if you start a new game and you find the one collectible that you’re missing, it’ll trigger the trophy!

🖋️ Tiger’s Review; Spellbreak

As of January 10th, 2023, Spellbreak is no longer available to play because the server has been shut down. I wasn’t able to “finish” this game because I didn’t have enough time to get the last trophy, but I played enough to voice my opinion on this game. So let’s get into it!

I first played this game in October of 2020, about a month after it was released on the PS4. God, it does not feel like I first played that long ago, it only feels like a year lol I won my very first match and got 4 trophies while doing so which felt insane to me. It was cool but it felt so… wrong. I’m TERRIBLE at pvp and I never win anything, so the fact that I won my FIRST match… it felt like I just slipped into the twilight zone okay. I actually hate pvp and battle royale games, they’re not my thing for multiple reasons, the main reason being that I don’t like people and these games make me SUPER anxious.

I do dabble in these games sometimes, but only in moderation.

🖋️ Tiger’s Review; Stray

I was late to the party. I knew about this game as soon as it came out because I saw that Jacksepticeye played it and everyone was talking about it. However, my dumbass had the impression that the cat died at the end so I avoided this game. People dying? No problem. Animals dying? I hate you. CATS dying? I hate everything and I’m sobbing.

So I finally got it because it was on sale and this is literally the BEST purchase I have made in 28 years of life. The game starts out with two of my absolute favorite things – rain and cats. This is my dream game, bro, I get to be a cat that can destroy pottery and mahjong games and go around meowing every half second. This is literally the best game ever created.

If you wanna see how my playthrough went, you can check out the playlist here. There’s no commentary and I’m still uploading the episodes c:

By the way, this review is gonna be littered with some of my favorite pictures from the game, sorry not sorry.

[challenge info] The Casual A-Z Club

A-Z FamilyA-Z Platinum ClubA-Z Platinum Title Trophy ClubA-Z Non Plat Club

Introduction

I know what you’re thinking; “Not another A-Z thread!” and yes, there’s a few out there, but none really fit what I was looking for. As a casual hunter, I play a lot of games that I cannot or do not want to platinum. Likewise, there’s games that I cannot or do not want to 100%. This really limits me in the other challenges so I don’t wanna join them knowing that I probably won’t be able to complete the challenge. So, I decided to make my own version of the A-Z challenge for the more casual of hunters, like myself.

I hope you’ll join me and have fun doing it c:

The Code

“The code is more what you’d call ‘guidelines’ than actual rules.” – Barbossa, Pirates of the Caribbean

  1. For a game to qualify for this challenge, you must earn at least four trophies from that game.
  2. Previously started games are okay, but please only choose games you haven’t finished as of joining this challenge.
  3. “Finished” can mean either completing the story or getting the plat/100%. It’s entirely up to you.
  4. If an official title starts with “The” then it would fall under T rather than the next word.
  5. Any questions, concerns, or comments – feel free to post ’em!
  6. Finally, the most important rule of all – have fun!

🖋️ Tiger’s Review; Aery – Calm Mind

Aery – Calm Mind

I bought this game because it came up on a list when I searched for non-violent games (needed it for a spot on my bingo card.) Ever since I was young, I’d always hang out the window in the car, feeling the wind rush past me and wondering what it would be like to be a bird. In this game, you play as a bird collecting feathers across multiple worlds. I need more calm in my life, after all. It’s a casual, simple game.

It’s supposed to be calming and relaxing… It’s feckin infuriating. The first level is deceiving because it’s pretty, runs smoothly and it is, in fact, quite relaxing. If only the whole game was like that… Half the levels have shitty frame rate – like markiplier-playing-hand-sim bad frames. It was so bad that I could barely move. Had to restart the game a few times and it still didn’t fix it.
